On 24 March 2026, the AMLA held its first public hearing on draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS). The hearing attracted significant interest, with more than 1.600 stakeholders participating. Attendees included obliged entities from both the financial and non-financial sectors, as well as civil society organisations.

The hearing focused on two draft RTS that form key building blocks of the future Single Rulebook:

  1. The criteria for identifying business partnerships, occasional transactions, and linked transactions were the main emphasis of the morning session.
  2. Customer due diligence (CDD) was the topic of the afternoon session, which covered the data and records obliged entities should gather in order to conduct standard, simplified, and enhanced CDD. These guidelines will have a direct effect on the regular onboarding and risk assessment procedures for many obliged entities.

Consultation open until 8 May 2026

The public hearing is part of a broader consultation process. Stakeholders can submit written responses to the draft RTS until 8 May 2026. AMLA strongly encourages participation, particularly from the non-financial sector.
