RegLab, the Dutch market leader in AML compliance software for law firms and investment funds, announces a majority investment by Smile Sail to accelerate European expansion and strengthen AML compliance leadership.

Haarlem, The Netherlands — RegLab, a leading provider of anti-money laundering (AML) compliance software for lawyers and investment funds, announces that Smile Sail has acquired a majority stake in the company. RegLab is the undisputed market leader in the Netherlands and rapidly building leadership positions in several European jurisdictions, serving over 300 clients. The investment will accelerate RegLab’s expansion across Europe, support continued product innovation, and strengthen its position as a trusted AML compliance platform for law firms and investment funds.
Smile Sail’s investment marks the next phase in RegLab’s European growth and represents the second investment from Smile Sail’s EUR 275 million Evergreen Fund. Smile Sail is investing in RegLab, founded by Joost Tulkens and Pieter Hallebeek, and will provide strategic and financial support to strengthen RegLab's position as the market leader in AML compliance software for lawyers and investment funds in Europe.
The partnership will enable RegLab to expand its European presence, invest in product innovation and AI-driven compliance capabilities, and support its rapidly growing customer base. RegLab has experienced strong growth in recent years as regulatory requirements have become more complex and firms increasingly seek efficient, reliable solutions to manage AML compliance.
RegLab’s founders, Joost Tulkens and Pieter Hallebeek, will continue to lead the company and remain actively involved in shaping its strategic and operational direction.
