Checklist internal AML audit

“Easy wins" for when the regulator comes to visit

An internal AML audit is not a legal requirement, but it is wise to conduct one. AML shortcomings often only come to light when it is actually too late. Do you want to prevent a regulator or external auditor from having to identify these AML shortcomings? Then conduct an internal audit yourself using this checklist and ensure you have some “easy wins” ready for when the regulator visits.

We recommend conducting an internal audit at least once a year. This ensures that policies, processes and matters are complete and remain up to date. An additional audit is advisable in the event of significant organisational changes or relevant legislative changes.
