The new European Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) has launched two new and important consultation rounds.
17/04/2026
On 16 April 2026, AMLA launched two consultations that are also of relevance to the legal profession.
The first concerns the draft RTS on group-wide minimum requirements, including the sharing of data within a group or network. This is relevant because, in practice, information relating to customer due diligence is often shared between, for example, different law firms. Supervisors draw particular attention to consultation question 3 on the right to confidentiality. Deadline: 15 June 2026.
The second concerns the draft Guidelines on firm-wide risk assessment (Art. 10 AMLR). Deadline: 15 July 2026.
A public hearing will also be organised for both consultations. Further information on the consultations and public hearings is available via AMLA.
